Dr. Kathleen Schwerdtner Máñez
Dr. Kathleen Schwerdtner Máñez has studied landscape ecology and nature conservation and holds a PhD in agricultural economics. Kathleen has a strong background in ecology and social sciences and has worked on diverse topics including resilience and sustainability, natural resource use in coastal and marine systems, ecosystem services, water scarcity, human-wildlife conflicts, policy instruments for species and biodiversity conservation, marine environmental history, and gender issues. Kathleen has worked in several projects in Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Vietnam), Australia, and West Africa, and has headed a European working group on gender issues in marine resource use. Kathleen speaks German, English, and Spanish.
